No. 19, inspired by 1950’s Greek delicatessens, is a breath of fresh air to walk into from the busy shopping strip. The challenge here was to ensure everything was slick and clean cut. We had to realign the building to ensure the concrete walls were slick. As always, RCON completed most works on site from the handmade tiles cut into the floor, form plied bench tops and poured and polished concrete. This café won the Casual Hospitality Interior category in the Melbourne Design Awards and was shortlisted in the Australian Interior Design Awards, Eat Drink Design Awards and IDEA Awards.
